Counting of test points,intersections and others and measurement of lengths such as diameters and point-sampled in-tercepts,performed on images superimposed with test grids,are basic tests in stereological quantitative studies.The Photoshop software can be used to observe images,prepare grids and measure lengths and can therefore be used to facilitate the tests.The present study briefly described the basic methods of preparing grids and measuring lengths with Photoshop,including how to draw and save test grids that can be superimposed on but do not cover up the images to be measured,and calibration of lengths measured.
